No. 9 Norris Street is a 3-storey historic courtyard building in Little India. OWAA has worked together with the client in converting this existing family service centre into a performing arts centre by covering up the existing courtyard with a new glass canopy and thereby giving the building its signature multi-volume, naturally lit performing atrium. The internal spaces have also been reconfigured and modernized into gallery spaces, practice studios and function rooms, all circling around the performing atrium.

The conserved Moorish façade would also be restored with its original façade ornaments, timber louvred windows and the cantilever balcony and domed roof turrets that give the building its signature appearance.

OWAA has proposed a fresh coat of Portland limestone paint to give the façade a traditional colour scheme that recalls a historic streetscape along Norris Road.
