Look-out Deck and Garden Pavilion at Cornwall Garden

This is an Addition and Alteration project to a good-class bungalow for a pair of retired couple who are avid bird watchers. The house owner requested for the addition of a roof deck and garden pavilion that allow them to come closer to the surrounding nature.

OWAA has inserted the new structures on a residual sloping site within the land plot, that achieves a building form and layout that is respectful of both the existing house and the natural environment around the house.

To better fit within the existing natural landscape, OWAA has envisaged the new structures as a series of circular decks and pavilions that can fit snugly within the site surrounded by mature trees ad shrubs. Striped balustrades are used to express the curved forms as well as to integrate both visually and physically with the natural landscape.
