Extension of Singapore American School (High School)

Location:
Singapore American School, Singapore

The High School building of Singapore American School will be undergoing a major extension works that includes the conversion of an existing open-to-sky courtyard into a shelter foyer space that is envisaged as the new social gathering space and heritage gallery of the High School with a new refreshed modern outlook of the building facade.

The new foyer space will serve as the heritage gallery of the entire Singapore American School to showcase the rich history of the school, and hence the interior design of the foyer is designed with an element of heritage and vintage to complement its function as a heritage gallery. This foyer space will be a key circulation mode and way-finding element

that creates better and seamless connection with the rest of the High School. This new extension of a foyer space would therefore be a main space for social gathering of the school community and provide a sheltered space for mass activities such as bizzares, exhibitions, assemblies, etc, with natural ventilation openings and skylight across the foyer to create a well-ventilated and well-lit internal environment for the school community.
