The Box-Cube Maison is a semi-detached house that the family of 5 envisage to be a multi-generational house that houses 4 nucleus family under one roof. The focus is on how do provide self-sufficient units within the house for every nucleus family while carving out common spaces for the whole extended family to gather and interact with each other. Attention is also spent on carving out multi-volume internal spaces and generous outdoor spaces that come together to create a light-filled, landscaped house.

Each of bedroom at every floor is expressed as an individual box each, with one staggered from another to create an identity for every bedroom while achieving a dynamic form and façade for the whole house. The use of planters, ledges and screens on the facade offers both sun shading as well as visual screening and in the same time, add further interest to the staggering volumes of the building form. The result is a clean, simple yet dramatic house with a light-filled interior to suit the lifestyles of a multi-generational  extended family.
